Miss North Dakota International®

Brandi Schoenberg - 2nd Runner-Up

People's Choice Award

Hi! I’m Brandi Schoenberg, Miss North Dakota International 2007.  I was born and raised on a farm near Mohall, ND where I graduated from in 2003. I am 22 years old and a recent graduate of the University of Mary in Bismarck where I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Business Communication. I currently reside in Bismarck where I love to go for runs while listening to my iPod.  I also enjoy baking and cooking and consider them the best ways for me to relax!

“Little Moments. Big Magic--” this describes the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and the cause that I will champion this year as Miss North Dakota International 2007.  I believe that an earth shattering moment doesn’t have to take place to make a big difference in the life of child.  I’ve learned, after being a Big Sister for three years, that it’s the littlest things that prove the biggest results.

I first became involved with the BBBS program in 2004 because I saw there was a need in the Bismarck-Mandan community for Big Brothers and Sisters.  I was eager to get involved with a program that would allow me to help children reach their full potential.  Now I am dedicated to helping recruit more volunteers and getting people excited about a program that has changed the lives of over 240, 000 children in the United States.

Right here in North Dakota there are children in Bismarck and Fargo that are waiting to be matched up with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  These children need mentors that are willing to spend time with them at least twice a month doing fun activities and be a friend and shoulder to lean on.  I have seen how my ‘little sister’ has benefited from the little moments that we share together. Let’s create more magic together as volunteers for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, so that our children in North Dakota can reach the potential within them!

I cannot even begin to describe how excited and proud I am be crowned Miss North Dakota International 2007!  The excitement will continue as I travel to Chicago in July to compete for the title of Miss International® 2007.  It is my goal to bring the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization to an international level where I can make a difference in the lives of children across our world.
