Miss Illinois International®

Annie - 1st Runner-Up

1. Are you more afraid of the doctor or dentist?
As a young Emma Roberts look-alike, I channel her detective skills from the Nancy Drew Films while I play our favorite family board game, Clue. Coming from a competitive family, we have graduated from the small notepads, to writing our clues on notebooks and iPads. My career as a Speech-Language Pathologist is also a constant search for answers to best help my clients.

2. If you could have a lifetime supply of anything what would it be?
Face serum! It is part of my morning routine which has allowed me to balance a career as a Speech-Language Pathologist with self-care. I love the refreshing start to the day as I pack my home-made protein bites and give my (spoiled) dogs the love they deserve. My favorite skincare lines are La Roche-Posay and DIME - two brands I’ve done extensive research on to understand the science behind the products.

3. What’s the worst date you’ve been on?
Hone in on my organizational skills, inspired by The Home Edit! I love a major clean out day when I have some time to fill. My closet, or closets should I say, are sorted purposely. The crowd favorite is my highly organized “Miss Illinois International Closet” which is overflowing with appearance outfits and my favorite gowns from Ashley Rene’s.

4. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
My dad and I purchased field level bleacher seats at Lambeau Field, not realizing we were joining the “standing room only” fans! Nicknamed “The Frozen Tundra”, everyone wears oversized jackets which leaves little room for sitting. The crowd is alive and always cheers on the Green Bay Packers regardless of the unideal tight quarters. This was the 4th NFL stadium I marked off my list, as I’ve made a goal to visit all 30.

5. Is there anything about you that people are surprised to learn?
Dancer Barbie! For the past 25 years, I’ve been enamored with the art of dance and studied everything from ballet to hip-hop. Now a dance instructor, I mentor over 200 students weekly. I also started an inclusive class, Rhythm Is A Dancer, as part of my outreach, Ability In Motion. I’d be dressed in a traditional tap outfit, since that is my favorite style, and play the song “Make ‘Em Laugh” from my stereo accessory!
