1. Are you more afraid of the doctor or dentist?
The Dentist has always been a bit more intimidating to me. As a First Responder I work very closely with Doctors and I am very comfortable around them; and if all else fails I’ll just eat an apple and that normally does the trick.

2. If you could have a lifetime supply of anything what would it be?
Frozen yogurt, I have the “Val Special” I’ve been getting for years: Coconut base, coconut flakes, white chocolate chips, and exactly 3 cherries. Regardless of what kind of day I’ve had, frozen yogurt can be a pick me up, or a celebratory treat.

3. What’s the worst date you’ve been on?
I went on a coffee date and a Fleetwood Mac song was playing in the background. I said, “Oh I love Stevie Nicks” and he proceeded to say, “Who is he?” He had no idea who she was and didn’t care to learn. Needless to say there was no second date. Can’t trust someone who doesn’t appreciate good music.

4. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
I would love to just be able to lay my hands on something and heal it. I work on the ambulance and it’s the hardest but most rewarding job I’ve ever had to do. There’s so many times I wish I could do more than humanely possible. That’s why I’m so passionate about my platform and giving others a 2nd chance at life.

5. Is there anything about you that people are surprised to learn?
I had brain surgery at 19. My life was saved by the hands of strangers and that propelled me into a career of Emergency Medical Services. I wanted to give others a second chance at life just as I had received so I created, “saving lives 2 hands at a time” and I teach people with no medical background lifesaving skills such as: CPR, distribution and administration of Narcan, and how to stop the bleed.
