Miss Wisconsin International™ 2018

Emma Loney

If you could teach a class in school, what would it be?
Service is handling a task or providing help to a person or group of people. Service is providing the person(s) what they need and expect, but not necessarily going above and beyond. Hospitality is going above and beyond. It is making the individual or group feel welcome, accepted, and wanted. Providing hospitality is going out of your way to offer comfort and compassion to those you are serving, no matter the setting.

Name one of your strengths and one of your weaknesses
I believe all successful women have a strong drive. They are always setting goals and modifying them to fit their changing experiences. A successful woman will continue to better herself and will put others first. She radiates confidence and she will accept her weaknesses and acknowledge her strengths and not think less of herself because she does not possess all of the characteristics society sets forth as a standard.

What qualities do you feel a titleholder should possess?
I have very strong morals and values, so if someone does something or asks me to do something that goes against what I believe, I have no problem saying no, and will often explain why I said no. If someone asks me to help them, though, I do struggle with saying no, as I always want to help.

What makeup item could you not live without and why?
I would spend it with my family. My family means everything to me and I always put them first, and having an extra hour in the day to just spend with them would be amazing. But, I since I do not have this hour, I do my absolute best to set time aside for them, whether it is having a family game night, volunteering, going to fundraisers, dinners, and other things that my family enjoys to do together.

Do you feel that beauty pageants help or hurt how society views women?
I dream spreading Eating Disorder Awareness across the United States and internationally. I dream of bringing awareness to middle schools and high schools by speaking to health classes, along with providing staff the proper training and information so that they are better able to detect disordered behavior in their students. Having spoken to thousands of students in Wisconsin, my dream is to speak to thousands more internationally.
