Miss Oklahoma International™ 2019

Erica King

If you could teach a class in school, what would it be?
I would teach Introduction to Engineering, either at a high school or freshman college level. When I took my first engineering courses the professors were so passionate that it motivated me to complete my engineering degree.

Name one of your strengths and one of your weaknesses
My confidence I believe is a great strength of mine because I am not afraid to try new things, and I am always up for a challenge. One of my biggest weakness is chocolate, but who can blame me.

What qualities do you feel a titleholder should possess?
A title holder needs to be confident in her platform and a strong spokeswoman of the pageant system. She needs to be active in her community and not afraid to put in the hours needed. She must be kind to everyone and willing to help all those around her. She should help to share the ideas the other aspirants wanted to promote in the community.

What makeup item could you not live without and why?
I never go without my brush-on sun defense, it gives my skin a great glow while protecting it from the sun.

Do you feel that beauty pageants help or hurt how society views women?
I believe that beauty pageants can help how society views women when intelligence, kindness and confidence is an important factor in how women are chosen in for the crown. While beauty is where pageants started, they have adapted to be a platform where women can be confident and proud in more than just their beauty.
