Miss South Dakota International™ 2019

Morgan Wilson

What is the First thing you notice about a person?
With the power and growth of technology today impacting kids at a younger age than ever before, I feel a class on digital citizenship and social media safety would be a tremendous value! With potential employers and colleges now reviewing social media it is vital that kids understand what they place into the digital world can have an impact on their future. Technology safety plays a very important role in keeping our kids safe online.

What goals do you have for the new 5 years?
I would have to say they are one in the same. A definite blessing and sometimes a curse. I am a perfectionist. I enjoy and thrive on highly detail oriented work and go beyond to make certain whatever it is has been done to the very best of my ability. Admittedly I can get a bit carried away and spend too much time on something. I do take immense pride in a job well done.

What is the first thing you would do if you win the lottery?
I feel very strongly that a titleholder above all else should have a true servants heart. As titleholders, we are in a position to influence and provide help to a large number of people we encounter, whether through charities, events, speaking at schools and basic every day contact with others who are watching how we conduct our actions. A titleholder should also possess the ability to win with humility and lose with grace.

What is the most useless you have ever purchased?
A snapshot of me most days I am attending college you would not see me in makeup at all. I love my femininity and embrace all that comes with being a woman. I am a double major and involved in theater productions, opera and chamber choir so having the added time to study and get enough rest is my priority most days. Itís all about the mascara! One coat and I will get things done!

What is the best way to spend a rainy afternoon?
I would have to say that most people are just not informed on the values that most pageant systems and their contestants hold. It would seem that society has a negative view on pageantry as a whole. To most, they see beautiful women up on stage trying to win a crown. What they donít know is those women are the most intelligent, kindest, and most talented people who truly want to make a difference.
