Miss Utah International™ 2019

Sierra Draper

What is the First thing you notice about a person?
If given the opportunity to teach, I would teach financial literacy. Through my platform, I have had the opportunity to teach the homeless financial literacy. Teaching them how to create budgets, set goals and come out of homelessness, has been a blessing. My goal is to help others become stable both mentally and financially.

What goals do you have for the new 5 years?
My greatest strength is that I put my full heart into everything I do. I will never put in half effort. I have never found the purpose of setting goals without setting an action plan to obtain them. While getting ready for this pageant, I learned my greatest weakness. This weakness is none other than chocolate. On July 28th I am going to indulge in my favorite treat, a blue symphony bar.

What is the first thing you would do if you win the lottery?
I believe a titleholder needs to be bold, kind and full of love. One of my favorite quotes is “Be the woman who fixes another queen’s crown without telling the world it is crooked.” Having a genuine love and support for others is what truly makes a queen a queen. A crown and sash mean nothing on their own- but the person who wears them puts meaning behind them.

What is the most useless you have ever purchased?
I enjoy makeup, but have learned recently how to love myself without it. For the past few years I have struggled with cystic acne. This past year I had the opportunity to go on Accutane. It has changed my life for the better and has shown me how to be bold, beautiful and love the skin that I am in. I am grateful to say the only makeup item I couldn’t live without is my Chapstick! Utah is so dry.

What is the best way to spend a rainy afternoon?
Truly it depends on the pageant and those involved as to whether beauty pageants will help or hinder societies view on women. Pageants can be a support system- women who want to watch other women succeed. I enjoy the international system because I believe it supports a healthy obtainable lifestyle while encouraging service.
