Deepa Dhillon - Miss International 2021

People's Choice Award

1. Are you more afraid of the doctor or dentist?
A modern woman is determined to achieve what she wants in life, fighting for her dreams no matter what obstacles may stand in her way. She is defined by her strength, resilience, fearlessness, and passion to pursue her purpose in life. Additionally, she is confident in who she is and celebrates the sisterhood of women all over the world.

2. If you could have a lifetime supply of anything what would it be?
The transition to womanhood is marked by responsibilities both to oneself and the world. She must be conscientious about her actions and understand that she is a role model for those around her. The timing is her own and, most of all, she is responsible for living a life true to who she is.

3. What’s the worst date you’ve been on?
To make the most out of disappointments, I use them as an opportunity for introspection and self-reflection. If we acknowledge the mistakes that we have made, take responsibility for what happens, and apply those learning points for future reference, I strongly believe that is an important way we can grow as individuals. This mindset is something that I readily implement in my own life to turn disappointments into life lessons.

4. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
A distinct memory from my last trip to India comes to my mind. My family and I were at one of my uncle’s wedding events with family we had not seen in a while. We were all in traditional Indian wear and danced the night away together. Being with my extended family and celebrating my uncle’s wedding created so much happiness for all of us and truly was a perfect moment.

5. Is there anything about you that people are surprised to learn?
There are two things that I do: write down my thoughts and talk to my mom. I am a visual thinker, so the writing exercise encourages me to get all my thoughts out of my head and piece them together on paper, so I know what I need to get done. Additionally, my mom has always been someone who knows how to make me feel better, so I confide in her whenever I am overwhelmed.
