1.Words I live by are:
For as long as I can remember my mom has told me “always put God first, others second and yourself last”. I am thankful for parents who emphasized a relationship with Christ and a teaching of consideration. I have developed a strong moral compass that allows me to place the most important things at the center of my life, leading me down a path that allows me to be the best version of myself.
2.What are your pet peeves?
I suffer from brumotactilophobia, the fear of different foods touching on your plate!! At 20 years old I still eat off a divided plate whenever possible. Unless we’re talking about foods that are sandwiched between two buns, wrapped in a zesty burrito, or tossed to make a fresh salad (in other words foods that are meant be combined) then I prefer my meals to be enjoyed one food group at a time, never touching.
3.How do you stay organized?
I am a firm believer and a big fan of using a planner. When you prioritize and plan your tasks before working on them you achieve the best results. I am a college honor student, vice-president of my sorority, Girl Scout mentor and manage my own personal platform, You Can Sit With Us, all while struggling with dyslexia. I would never accomplish what I do without a planner, specifically a color coded hard copy planner.
4.How do you relax?
The mind is powerful. It amazes me that we have to teach our minds and bodies to relax. In the world we live in, our human nature is crippled with anxiety, due dates, stressors, and negativity. As someone who enjoys staying busy I have recently learned the importance of mental health breaks. Learning to golf, playing with my Goldendoodle Snickers, reading, and going to the lake are just a few ways that I enjoy relaxing.
5.What is your dream job and why?
To change lives. I am finishing my undergraduate degree a year early while working towards a masters in Exercise Science. After graduation, I will be applying to medical school. It is my calling to care for others and give them the best quality of life so they can fulfill their calling. I can’t think of a greater honor than to prioritize the health and wellness of my fellow Arkansans as Dr. Anna Claire Hay.
