1.Words I live by are:
My mother always says, "It's not brave if you're not scared.” This quote is a true representation of the words I live by. This acknowledges that true bravery requires facing fear or uncertainty, and how stepping outside comfort zones can be intimidating, but often leads to personal growth and achieving goals. As a three-time cancer survivor, I live by this quote by embracing challenges and not letting fear hold me back from pursuing my aspirations.
2.What are your pet peeves?
Stereotyping people with chronic illnesses is my biggest pet peeve. This perpetuates inaccurate assumptions about those living with chronic health conditions. As a person with a chronic illness, I aim to break the stigma and disprove these stereotypes. It is important to showcase that people’s disabilities should never define who they are, and to recognize the diversity and complexity of experiences within the chronic illness community. We must challenge and overcome these stereotypes or biases!
3.How do you stay organized?
I stay organized by color-coding and using my Rocket Digital Planner. As a school counselor, color coding helps me visualize my tasks and manage my schedule efficiently. My digital planner helps me track my schedule and to-do lists. This system allows me to stay focused and organized in my career and in my platform advocacy work. I plan to use this approach to fit in one more very important role - the job of Miss International!
4.How do you relax?
I relax by engaging in activities that allow me to unwind and recharge. This may include watching my guilty pleasure TV shows while snuggled under my weighted blanket, practicing mindfulness, belting Broadway tunes, or spending time with my family. I prioritize self-care, and by taking the time to relax, I am able to maintain a healthy work-life balance and maintain my well-being so I can be the best person and titleholder possible!
5.What is your dream job and why?
Miss International and a motivational speaker – so I can shine a brighter light on invisible illness. I aspire to raise awareness about Neurofibromatosis (NF) and inspire people to embrace their authenticity. I am dedicated to advocating for those affected by NF and being a change agent where I utilize my platform to break stigmas and create a welcoming community. I aim to create a more inclusive and compassionate society where everyone feels valued and supported.
